Review on 🖍️ Full Color Pictures for Preschool - Melissa & Doug by Darrin Parasson

First of all the description says it is hand painted. They have decals, like all modern M&D. This makes it appear like only the background is a sticker and the animals are either still drawn or just a higher quality sticker than the pin puzzles. But the quality has gone down. I have a Noah's Ark made by them about 8 years ago that has been through 3 little boys and is still in better condition than the M&D puzzles my son got for his first birthday two weeks ago. Stickers can be easily torn when chewed. He also got some big jigsaw puzzles from M&D for his birthday and they're all starting to tear up. The quality of this puzzle is slightly better (hence 3 stars) than the grip puzzles. However, I decided not to let him play with him until he was older, which is a shame. I'd love to see Melissa and Doug create two lines of products: a "Value" line where they have stickers, and a "Original" high-end line. I would pay money for higher quality items because it was worth it. But M&D's new style is always disappointing to anyone who has seen their original stuff. Update: June 2013 My son loves playing with this jigsaw puzzle and it holds up better than jigsaw puzzles. Part of one of the animals started to lose its image a bit, but it's not bad. If I only had to compare it to other brands it would get 4 stars but I still compare it to original M&D stuff and it's not that good.
