They do their job but the bag is useless and storage is an issue.

I bought a pair of these beds so I can take my little granddaughter to bed when she wakes up scared the first few nights out. When she outgrew her portable cradle, we put her to sleep on a large mattress, one side against the wall, one bumper on the opposite side, and one underneath (just tucked under the covers). She has never fallen out, although she has a habit of resting her head on the edge of the mattress. On vacation last summer, just before her third birthday, we put one on a double bed that was bordered on one side by a wall. There are no failures either. That was good news. Unfortunately, this type of bumper has some practical disadvantages. They are quite long and have some weight. They didn't arrive in a so-called carrier bag; it was packed. They absolutely will NEVER fit in this bag. I've used all my pillowcase stuffing tricks and barely managed to get one in. The bag is useless in my opinion. Without something to hold them in place, they're pretty bulky and take up a lot of space. Being strong enough to knock things over, even moving them will endanger your lamps and other items in your path. In the end I decided to fold it in half and secure with elastic strings to store in extra large clear plastic bags. A good spot would be under the beds, but I don't have a lot of free space there. Until I find time for a long overdue decluttering, they will continue to wander between bedrooms when not in use. They're a bit more expensive in my opinion, but worth it if your kid sleeps out a lot. (I paid $39.69 for a pair.) Take away the storage issues and I'd give them 5 stars because they serve their purpose. However, I deducted one for a useless bag. When I was out shopping, I believe one photo showed a model mom with a bag dangling neatly from her shoulder and said to be stuffed with bumpers, which was a misrepresentation. To be fair it could have actually been a different brand but it would have been just as useless as the one I received. Finally, after I washed the zipper covers, the smell was light and bearable. They have non-slip material on the bottom. Whether you mount it before or after you attach the tension plate, it's not as easy as shown. If all you have is old style expansion plates you will have trouble fitting this bumper at all. In recent years, I've found that thin sheets have become very tight, even those designed for deep mattresses. The bumper is a bit difficult to put on and take off but I can handle it and it pretty much stays where I put it all night. Summary: The bumpers do their job well, but the bag is useless and storage is an issue.

Pros
  • BUMPER FOR MOVING BED: Dense 110g/m2 non-slip dot design allows the bumper to be placed either on or under the sheets, suitable for movers. Make sure your child can move and stretch in their bed without falling off the edge.
Cons
  • Security
