Provided the heater connectors are on the top right and left of the mattress topper and the sheets are taut, the cables from the connectors to the controls should be longer. Too short as described in other reviews. Update 5/2021. After winter use, I found the following slow warming: 4-5 hours before bedtime. Because the end caps are connected at the top right and left corners, the top of the mattress heats up first and is hotter than the bottom. The heating is uneven, although the soil is heated less. The case is soft and holds up well. However, it was useful to have in winter.
