I've wanted to get a digital camera for a long time. If you take a lot of photos, you know that you can (hopefully) get really good shots from a whole roll of film. I wanted the flexibility to decide which photos I wanted to keep. I did my homework by researching digital information on the internet. I've spent a lot of time thinking about what I want from a camera and which one to buy. That's why I chose the Sony Cybershot DSCH1. The decisive factor was the abundance of good ratings. The DSCH1 has everything I hoped for and more. While there is a bit of a learning curve due to the many features, all the buttons are well placed and the instructions provided are adequate. The camera is much faster than my Ricco 35mm and is fully automatic or manual if you prefer. This camera isn't just for the average photographer. Pros: Great specs, great shots, ease of use (auto mode), versatility (manual mode), amazing macro mode, video recording with sound, good battery life. Cons: Most accessories, including the carrying case, must be purchased separately. Missing: panorama installation and remote connection.
