So much fun - good instructions - easy for beginners

This set was really good for beginners. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and even included instructions on how to wash/prep clothes for best results. It also included some template suggestions, which was funny because I had no idea what I was doing. I love that it comes with gloves and lots of rubber bands to 'tie'. And the additional paint packages are worth it, because you can save them for another time or you have the opportunity to paint a large batch of parts. I made this with my 6 year old daughter - she was very generous with paint - and we had enough paint to completely soak 4 kid size shirts and have not used the extra packs of paint yet. Some things I learned for next time: * Blue is VERY dark. The bottles come with a pre-measured amount of dye so we had what we had for the first time. But next time I think I'll just use 1/2 pack of blue paint to make it a lighter/lighter color.* If you're working and coloring with kids, INCLUDE EVERYTHING! The neck of the bottle is wide enough, as soon as you knock it over, the liquid will start to flow out. We had splatters and our patterns came out a bit messy. And since we were doing the project during the winter, I lined my bathtub with a plastic dollar store tablecloth to keep it from making a mess.* Apply colors from lightest to darkest, be more generous with lighter colors and more conservative with darker colors. Especially blue, which seemed to behave like black and just took over everything. In general the colors are good, the instructions are good and the project was a lot of fun. I would definitely buy this set again.
