Review on Thule Women's Capstone Atlantic Backpack for Hiking and Daypacks by David Richardson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

High quality well designed backpack with great fit highly recommend

So I switched from a Kelty Catalyst 50L to this Thule Capstone and I'm so happy about it! 50L was a bit big I thought I need that much but I didn't. It was comfortable and I actually thought it was a cat meow at the time, but this backpack is so much better and yes, part of that is because it's made for women. The Kelty Catalyst I had was gender independent and compared to how this Thule Capstone fits I can really tell now. Maybe it's because this Capstone has a volume of 40 liters, so it's a little smaller, but it has to be bigger, the hips, the position of the shoulder straps, it's so light and weightless to carry. As it turns out, 40 liters is enough space for my needs, especially considering I'm not the only adult when we're out and about. I like all the pockets that are easy to access when carrying this backpack. I don't really care about the bar mount, to be honest, and I don't see it being detachable, which I would like. I also really like that I can hide the shoulder straps in the mesh. The mesh and back vent are also very nice and really work, Thule's design was better in that regard than the Catalyst which had mesh but didn't have enough structure that the backpack wasn't just laying on top of the mesh anyway. I also have to be honest that I'm not adventurous enough to walk in the rain so a raincoat will probably be of little use, although it would be handy to cover the backpack when it's not on your back to keep it dry, I think , but this year I was only in good weather, so. This backpack is also really well made and I think the price is right for the quality and features and I think it's worth the extra cost compared to the Kelty Catalyst.
