If you knit lace, you need these.

As a knitter, I know the importance of blocking out knit fabrics. But I'm not an experienced knitter, so my own creations don't need these blocking needles. However, the woman in my knitting group (who has been temporarily disbanded due to the pandemic) is an experienced knitter who creates exquisite lace shawls and wraps, which she sells at a ridiculously low price: the cost of yarn. THESE scarves I bought need blocking when I hand wash them to get rid of the cigarette smoke smellโ€ฆ

  • Cord is shorter than others

Where have you been all my life?

You are amazing. You'll need two or even three boxes for most items, but it's worth it, even if you have to buy or save for one box at a time. They really save time and work very well. I use them with puzzle mats. I used to use wires and T-pins, but now I use them for almost everything. My cords are tucked under the sofa for the few times I need them. I still use T-Pens for tissue tips, but I've seen them used horizontally for this as well. I see some people say they catch fine yarn. I keepโ€ฆ

Eliminates blocking fatigue but beware of little burrs on the tips

Very easy to knit blockers, where have you been all my life?! The pins are very sharp and stay where you put them. You really get rid of the tedious work of lace: the process I used to dread has now become a pleasure. A box is not enough for a pointed cloth, so I will buy more. I took off a star because these blockers are more expensive than they probably should be, and -- here's a real word of caution -- some of the sharp needles have tiny burrs that can snag on your knit if you're not veryโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
