In short, these Micca speakers offer great dynamic range in a small package. I use these speakers on my desktop on my computer. They offer the best fidelity of any small speaker I've tried, at least at this price point. The RB42's are detailed but not overly bright, and the bass extension for such a small cabinet is remarkable. The build quality is excellent. Mikka even sends some foam insulation pads. You will need it for desktop use, otherwise this base will make things on your desk rattle and hum at low frequencies. The downside of such a small powerful speaker is that it's inefficient. To get all that power these little kids are going to draw some power, around 100 watts per channel to really power them up. For my desktop computer, I use an SMSL AD18 stereo amp, which puts out 80 watts per channel for a reasonable price and works great even at fairly high volumes. In the world of affordable speakers, or any speaker for that matter, there's a compromise to getting more dynamic range out of a small box. In this case, Micca delivers goods on the RB42, but you have to drive it with more power.
