Description of 🔊 Micca RB42 Bookshelf Speaker Pair with 4-Inch Woofer and Silk Tweeter - Dark Walnut Finish

The Micca RB42 bookshelf speaker celebrates music reproduction in a handsome package, delivering the next step up in compact speaker performance. With curiously robust bass output and a silky smooth sound signature, it renders all musical genres with faithful authority along with a dose of fun. The stout 4-inch woofer is built on a truncated heavy steel frame and substantial magnet structure. Its long throw design incorporates a coated pressed paper cone with concave dust cap, large radius rubber surround, and vented pole piece. The tweeter is based on Micca’s popular 0.75-inch silk dome design, using an high efficiency neodymium magnet and a form-cut bezel for tight driver spacing. The RB42 owes its tonal balance and transparency to a 10-element crossover that uses high grade film capacitors and air core coils for key components. Both the tweeter and woofer circuits have a 18dB/octave slope to enhance power handling, dramatically reduced lobing, and superior off-axis performance. Dressed up in dark wood pattern in clean modern curves and lines, you can show off its good looks anywhere in the home or office. Experience its finger-snapping, hand-clapping, arm-waving, hip-swaying, head-nodding, and toe-tapping performance today.

I'm ZeosPantera and I approve this post.

OK I've been a Mickey fan for a while. And when I found out about the new speaker, I was happy to finally move away from the 4-inch MB42x form factor. Well, ok. 4 more". But deeper. narrower. prettier. AND LOOK at the thickness of the surrounding speaker. Maybe it will be good. This is 5 stars, best bookshelf I have ever heard under $250. They FILL my living room and play low frequencies which are amazing for a driver of this size I throw them on my desk along with Emotiva mini mono blocks and…

Nice little speakers

Foreword: I'm not a person who likes to listen to loud music and I don't need a bass that kicks in the pit of my stomach. If you are, then these speakers are not for you. They're pretty inefficient, so you'll need to put some power into them to get decent sound from them. And with 4-inch woofers, you won't get much air movement. I've also tried them on a few different amps. Sound at 50 watts per channel. I wasn't too impressed with the sound I got from them without a preamp. Although other…

Game Changes! on the bookshelf Speakers

Gosh, I was completely satisfied with my Dayton Audio B652 Airs. I mean the Dayton speakers are impressive for the price! So these RB42s arrived yesterday. They are tiny, my hand covers the front. so hard! I tapped it with my knuckles. almost no reverb, my eyebrows went up a bit. I hooked up a couple of 100w mono blocks to it and played a phone through them. Since then I haven't stopped listening to them. So I find the price (starting price) artificially low, they have an incredibly rich sound…

King of the Desktop

In short, these Micca speakers offer great dynamic range in a small package. I use these speakers on my desktop on my computer. They offer the best fidelity of any small speaker I've tried, at least at this price point. The RB42's are detailed but not overly bright, and the bass extension for such a small cabinet is remarkable. The build quality is excellent. Mikka even sends some foam insulation pads. You will need it for desktop use, otherwise this base will make things on your desk rattle…

An improvement over Parts Express Overnight Sensation with some quirks

Like others I have seen Steve Guttenberg highly recommend them. The Overnight Sensations are a highly acclaimed do-it-yourself speaker set from Parts Express and to be honest they've been a joy on my desk for the past 5 years. I bought the Micca out of curiosity... and I'm glad I did! Are they already sold out or not available? I have about 10 hours on RB42. Quick comment: The Micca rep I spoke to assured me that this model has multiple FR audio sweeps and about 20 extra minutes of audio…

You can unhook this subwoofer.

I've had these speakers for a long time so I'm doing a review. These are Micca RB42 bookshelf speakers purchased from Revain for $150. They are black and wrapped in vinyl. The face is narrow, and the speakers themselves aren't exactly a foot tall, and about as deep as they are tall. They fit easily on a bookshelf, although depending on the bookshelf they can hang a bit. The construction of the column is very strong, the MDF is quite thick. When you hold it in your hands it seems that it is very

Micca RB42, Small speakers with a twist!

I'm new to the speaker/audiophile world but I've bought budget favorites like the Dayton b652s, Micca MB42X and Pioneer SP-BS22. I use them as PC speakers. to set up the near field on my desk with a 20WPC Orb Audio Mini-T amp. Although there are some reviews that suggest driving these speakers with a better amp. They sound good to me and are already too loud when I turn the volume knob past 50%. Hip-Hop, RnB and Rock and Roll are just perfect for these speakers. I even tried to equalize the…

Pros
  • Built tough
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Let me start by saying they look and sound amazing! As mentioned, the bass is amazing for such a small speaker! They are very pleasant to listen to even without a subwoofer and I'm one of those who love bass. Not subwoofer bass to shake your buttocks from, but very enjoyable and natural sounding bass. They are also very well balanced; The highs and mids are very smooth and the soundstage is excellent. The housing is rock solid and simply great for a speaker in this price range. The magnetic…
