Micca RB42, Small speakers with a twist!

I'm new to the speaker/audiophile world but I've bought budget favorites like the Dayton b652s, Micca MB42X and Pioneer SP-BS22. I use them as PC speakers. to set up the near field on my desk with a 20WPC Orb Audio Mini-T amp. Although there are some reviews that suggest driving these speakers with a better amp. They sound good to me and are already too loud when I turn the volume knob past 50%. Hip-Hop, RnB and Rock and Roll are just perfect for these speakers. I even tried to equalize the bass with the APO 1.2 equalizer and while it sounded ok I ended up resetting the EQ and boosting the treble just a tiny notch as I have almost no space and need to fit these speakers. almost against the wall. Technically you don't want to be close to the wall with a rear speaker port, but IMO they sound funnier when they're closer so you get even more bass :D I now have the bs22 in my theater as offline and with one Denon 5.1 receiver connected. I switched off the sub and tested the speakers separately and even close to the wall. The Pioneers are larger than the RB42 but have less bass but slightly better mids and highs. I still couldn't figure out how my rb42 running a 20 watt per channel mini amp produced more bass than the Pioneers on a 75 watt per channel Yamaha 5.1 receiver. Now compared to the super popular MB42X (I gave them to my dad to use as TV speakers in our living room last Christmas) I tested the MB42X with the same mini amp. And I hated the MB42X. They sound good but I used to have bs22 and now rb42. To me the MB42X just sounds flat, but it can be louder than the RB42. But in my opinion they sound boring and ended up disappointing me as there is so much hype around them. And I think the tweeters on the RB42 are similar but slightly better than the mb42x tweeter. And compared to the cheap Dayton B652s (now sitting next to my entourage) there's no competition. I don't know why the b652 has a larger woofer but it lacks BIG bass compared to this smaller woofer. I've also now read that these speakers need to be placed on foam/speaker stands on a table. I recently bought foam pads for the first time and all I have to say is that the main benefit is that the foam block helps the tweeters direct a better angle towards your ear. Ultimately, it's up to you, but I don't think you need to buy foam pads right away. Now for the things I don't like about the speakers: They really lack mids and highs. And I can say that they are very inefficient, I had to turn the volume up (maybe up to 55-70% of the volume control) when playing Africa Toto. And that's just a minor note, but I wish they had other color options for this speaker. I didn't like the color of this speaker, but it looks much better in real life than in the photos here at Revain (although I still wish they had a black and white option). But even then, I still love these speakers. I'd love to try them with a better, higher WPC Mini-T amp, but I'm happy with the sound even with my weaker 20WPC Mini-T amp. For near field listening and music, YouTube videos/TV shows and GAMES. That's great. You'll be scratching your head at how bass these little speakers deliver. Now, that's not subwoofer-class bass, but when you play a heavy bass song and turn up the volume, it almost sounds like you have a pseudo-mini subwoofer. And as a bonus, on most songs you can see the woofers vibrate (instead of causing torture through distraction/damage). Good for near field listening / desktop setups. Sound filling of small rooms. Please try these amazing speakers. Thanks Mikka for releasing these cute little bass warriors.
