for 9 years. It tasted very good. Good tasting espresso. But it needed updating as it's been getting noisy lately. So I did extensive research and all the recommendations pointed to the new Gaggia Pro. My research involved watching many YouTube videos on how to use this machine, all touted as one of the best. Coffee machine in its class. So I went ahead with this purchase and had some high standards. However, this turned out to be a disappointment. Here's why: 1. The espresso is much less flavorful and less full-bodied than its predecessor, which I still have and will use again. No matter what brand of ground coffee I use, black syrup always has an unusual, mild, unpleasantly pungent taste. 2. The distance between the filter and the drip tray is small, so only a small espresso cup can fit inside. This is a shortcoming for me because I sometimes place my small milk cup underneath to pour the espresso directly there. I can't with this clumsy car3. The filter does not fit in its slot. It often slips when someone tries to activate it. To tighten, you need to hold the machine to prevent it from moving to the right.4. Otherwise it looks great. I bought the red one and it's tempting to look at. And above all, as many advertise, it's Made in Italy! For the first 3 reasons, this was a disappointing purchase for me. A doctor who loves good espresso.
