Review on Enhance Motorcycle Safety: Dot Approved Chrome 7inch LED Headlight with 4.5inch Matching Chrome Passing Lamps + Adapter Ring and Wire Adapter by Christopher Buck

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Overall very happy with performance, ease of installation and price

I installed the kit on my 2009 Electraglide Standard. The kit includes three headlights (one 7" headlight and two 4" auxiliary lights), a headlight adapter, a headlight mounting ring, a headlight connector adapter and two male/female connectors for 4" headlights. . The headlights are significantly brighter and appear much whiter (6000K color range) and have wider and deeper coverage than standard Harley-Davidson (HD) headlights. I find them much safer than standard HD lights. I have no way of comparing them to the HD Daymaker lights (part numbers 67700243, 67700264, and 67700265), but these kits range from $925 to $1000 when purchased direct from HD. The high cost of HD flashlights made me consider and buy this alternative. The 7" replacement LED headlight was not a direct replacement as it is larger and has alignment notches. I had to install the included adapter which was good. The replacement LED headlight's 3-pin connector mates with the existing headlight connector with socket. A second headlight adapter plug is included in the kit in case your 3-pin plug does not fit directly. The kit fits snugly into the existing case, albeit a little tighter. The wiring for the auxiliary lights was a little fiddly as the connector on the existing headlight has a latching feature that snaps and snaps into the connector in the auxiliary light housing. To replace the male/female connector you will need to replace the connector in the housing by cutting, splicing or otherwise modifying the existing wiring in the housing to use both ends of the connector provided. However, I didn't want to change the housing, because I wanted to be able to fall back on the original headlights if necessary. The end of the two-pin connector on the replacement LED will connect to the existing connector in the box, but you will lose the ability to connect the two connectors together. My solution was to use one end of the new connector (on the LED) with the existing connector in the case and tie them together so I could go back to my original lights if needed. For this reason I removed the "star" from the rating. It remains to be seen how reliable the kit is, but only time will tell.
