Looks like it was made out of scrap wood

This is horrible quality. I never even bothered to remove the plastic wrapped around it, I could see how bad it was before opening it. First of all, several of the numbers have chipped paint or are incomplete. Without opening the box, just through the plastic I can see that the #4 tile has a rough broken edge with splinters. If you look closely at the picture, you can see squared edges on other tiles, but not on the four. That's because it's angled down, like it was made out of scrap wood and…

Pros
  • It's so tiny thought I would be bigger but will serve the purpose
Cons
  • Nice product, good for counting. Not the best quality, but good for the price.

Great learning tool

I typed up a sheet of equations (1+1=_) and my daughter uses the blocks to "write" the equation and then counts the sticks out for each block. Then she counts the sticks all together to get the answer and she writes it down on the sheet. The simple visual of the sticks definitely helps with basic addition and subtraction. This is a great learning tool for preschool/kindergarten aged children.

Pros
  • My 5 year old loves it and thinks it’s so fun to use
Cons
  • Poor quality tiles. They came all misprinted this way.

Thin and flimsy on my review.

This item is small and flimsy. Hard for even my 6 year old to manipulate and description indicates age 3 and over. Very small, thin, flimsy pieces and some numbers are not centered in the individual tiles ( half printed on and half off) kind of thing.

Pros
  • Good for home teaching
Cons
  • Very cheap

Gift for premindergartener.

Using to teach kindergartener about counting without using fingers. She loves playing with it. This would have been really nice to have had a storage bag since there is no way to keep anything in the box once the plastic wrapper is removed. Package came undamaged and early.

Pros
  • Seem durable helping my first grade son a lot not more finger counting lol.
Cons
  • I feel like this was much cheaper than I was anticipating, but then again, it didn't cost very much?

Came Broken. Cheap quality.

Came broken. Past the return window time because it was a gift. Disappointed there was no cover for this either. With all of these pieces there should be some sort of cover.

Pros
  • Good product. Will do the job to help teach my kids. Small in size but workable.
Cons
  • Poor quality and poor design

You Could Probably Make Something Better

When I bought this item, it was called "Intelligence Sticks", which is not a great name for an educational toy, but whatever.- More squares with symbols for the operations would be great, instead of just 1 symbol each.- Kids got bored using this pretty quickly. Montessori bead bars are way more effective and fun, if you're looking for a similar way of teaching the operations.- Sticks are cheaply made and in each stick color group, there is not the same number of colors.

Pros
  • My 8 and 9 year old boys love this!
Cons
  • Not interactive or engaging in the same way as digital educational tools

Too expensive for the quality

Great concept but way too expensive for what it was , it looks like something you would buy at the 99cent store . I wish there was more sticks

Pros
  • Very nice for this price
Cons
  • May require adult supervision for safe use

Counting sticks best in my review

These are great for counting and simple math problems. Unfortunately, the box they came in does not have a lid so although there are compartments in the box to keep them separated, they are hard to store without a lid.

Pros
  • My son asks to do school work with this! He says it's fun schoolwork. Great set.
Cons
  • The box should have a cover and some of the sticks are broken

Great for math lovers!

Our son is really interested in addition and subtraction and he’s often looking for random things to add/subtract, so I thought he’d enjoy this and it would be even easier to demonstrate it with the symbols. He really loves this and we’ve been having so much fun with it! It’s really so simple yet effective!

Pros
  • Great product! Definitely can be used for a wide age range 2-8!!
Cons
  • Not as versatile as other educational toys, such as building blocks

Cheaply made good for me

This is made a lot cheaper than I hoped.Just received in the mail today and the signs are already peeling off the wooden pieces. See photo.

Pros
  • Such a great way to help my little girl learn simple math! Nice quality!
Cons
  • May not be easy for some children to grip or manipulate

Makes math fun in my review

My son was having a hard time relating addition to subtraction. Bought these for him and what he was having a hard time with for months he got within a week. Honestly he didn’t need them for long but they make his math homework easier for him to visualize and a month later he doesn’t even need them he just likes to use them. This really makes math fun.

Pros
  • Great
Cons
  • May require additional resources or materials for more advanced activities

Very helpful and I - my new review

I bought this to help my son who is in kindergarten with math and it's done just that. It's made it fun for him and helped him with addition and subtraction, made it much easier for him to understand how to find the solution using the sticks and being able to be hands on and having the visual

Pros
  • This a nice counter set, I just wish it came with a lid
Cons
  • Numbers and sticks may become easily misplaced

Math made fun for kids

My 5 yrs old son loves doing math now. This is fun and helpful for kids with counting in general and correlation. That's my review.

Pros
  • Using at home for schooling this year and my kids love it. sturdy and exactly like described
Cons
  • I thought the materials would be a bigger.

Smaller than expected but will still function well

The product arrived quickly. It was smaller than expected, and the sticks seem a little thin. They don't seem like they'll hold up with heavy use. That said, my kids were really excited to use them when they arrived.

Pros
  • My 6 year old loves this. He always wants to do math with this.
Cons
  • Limited colors and visuals may not appeal to all children

Great concept but the execution is cheap.

The thickness is very thin. I would say for toddlers it is hard to grab. The writing on the numbers is peeling off. This just arrived today and was hoping to use for homeschool.

Pros
  • Fun Learning : It makes learning fun, enriches the child imagination, stimulates children's logical thinking, improves children hand eye coordination and learning ability
Cons
  • May not be as popular as other trendy educational toys on the market

Great product but looks like cheap design

Thought this would be fun to do with my daughter and teach her some basic adding skills to start with. The idea is great but I feel as though the number squares were all cut wrong or the red paint or transfer was placed on poorly

Pros
  • Looks like it will be helpful.
Cons
  • Not ideal for age group I thought it was targeting. Very flimsy and not great quality.

Perfect for Special Needs learning!

I can't praise these sticks enough! I'm homeschooling my special needs 2nd grader (who is a visual learner) and this has made Math so much fun for him! Thank you!

Pros
  • The sticks are really helpful with Math lessons
Cons
  • May not hold children's attention for long periods of time

Wonderful Educational Toy

My son absolutely loves this and plays with it frequently. He even picked it as the one you that he could bring to visit family. When he did, he and his cousins spent so long playing with the sticks and practicing math problems that I bought one for his cousins as well. I have no idea why they like it so much. It's essentially homework, but hey. It's a great toy.

Pros
  • Very helpful colorful
Cons
  • Only includes numbers 1-10, not a full range of numbers

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Cheap garbage! good for me

The paint was rubbed off half of the numbers right out of the box and one of the numbers was missing. The whole thing looked and felt extremely cheap, I wouldn't have cared that much if the paint wasn't already coming off! I'm returning right away.

Pros
  • Perfect teaching aid for first grade math. We have loved using this!
Cons
  • May not be as durable as other educational toys

It is fine for the price

This toy is not school quality, and at the price, I did not expect it to be. I bought it for the toy shelves in the playhouse. The box and sticks would not withstand classroom use, but for a child or two at home, it would likely outlast its need.

Pros
  • It helps simulate the math questions
Cons
  • Some of the print on the tiles are smudged and may be difficult for kids that are trying to learn
