In the last 6 months I have taken up sewing in earnest and have accumulated a ton of spools of thread in all colors. They don't fit very well in my thread box (they come unfolded). I tried storing them in the spool box that came with the purchase and they were a mess and it was difficult to find the exact color I wanted. Of these I keep a stack of these in the corner of my sewing table and still have empty ones, one with neutral threads and the other with a multicolored rainbow. This will grab the end of the thread to keep it in place! You can also move them around the ring to make room for a new spool (to keep the colors in order of course) although you can only move 2-3 at a time.
