Ideal for handicrafts: painting materials and tools

This makes the seam gluing process much more efficient for the do-it-yourselfer. Attaching the tape (instead of the wall and then laying the tape) speeds up the process considerably. Same goes for inside corners, but you can't pre-bend the tape before applying dirt. However, using TapeBuddy is much better than smearing mud on the joint and then applying tape. The downside of working alone is that you can pull as much tape as your span will allow. So instead of one 12-foot strip, you may need three separate strips. This is not a problem. Just remember to overlap the ends of the ribbon a bit. There are far better tools out there for professionals, but for a DIYer like me this is perfect. ADVANTAGES: Uniform layer of dirt on the tape (better grip and less waste) Faster than sanding the wall and then laying the tape. CONS: Shorter tape length Takes up storage space when not in use. TIPS: If using an all-purpose mud, dilute it a bit with water so it has the consistency of taping mud. This ensures even coverage when pulling the tape and better adhesion. Place the TapeBuddy on top of two stacked 5 gallon buckets (make sure to mount it so the rim of the bucket rests in the grooves. This is more for ergonomics). so you don't have to reach up to your knees to grab the tape. Also, make sure your buckets are weighted so TapeBuddy doesn't make them too heavy. to make the belt run more smoothly.
