I've been using natural toothpastes for many years and the last time I went to the dentist my hygienist said my teeth are so clean they won't call the dentist to check them out ( sorry, they still blamed me). I chose natural toothpaste many years ago because "health" was heavily marketed in her hometown and caused mouth ulcers. I also had trouble brushing my teeth for a full two minutes because the pastes were too foamy and filled my mouth too quickly, and the "flavors" were too intense to sustain for long. It was only after I made the switch that I learned about all the chemical and environmental aspects of traditional toothpastes that weren't good, which only reinforced my decision to make the switch. That being said, if you're new to natural toothpaste, this probably shouldn't be your first, as it's far from what you'll find in grocery stores and can make the transition difficult. That being said, I loved the natural toothpaste I had used before. Then I became sensitive to coconut and had to find a new toothpaste. I was concerned because gingivitis is common in my family and some toothpastes don't work for me and many of them contain coconut by-products. (It's hard to avoid coconut - it's everywhere!) so it was very difficult at first, then someone suggested this paste. It really works! I sometimes use baking soda to whiten my teeth but have to be careful because it's so abrasive but not with this stuff, the clay is so soft my teeth only look polished at the dentist! Well, to be fair, that only happens if I use it regularly and brush for a full two minutes (I have another toothpaste that I use sometimes when I'm feeling frisky, for more flavor, even without the coconut). No foaming and very light mint flavor. It's yellowish-brown in color but not repellent, so don't worry. I wish it was cheaper since it's made out of clay which isn't an expensive product, but I won't make my own because "nobody has time for it" so I'll buy it now. So happy to have this product!
