This bird carrier seems to be well-made and of nice materials. Also, there was no chemical or plastic odor as others have complained about. It smelled fine. I did have a couple issues, however. First, the "padding” in the bottom is a piece of carpet. It is too wide and won’t sit flat. And besides, why would you put carpet where the bird is going to soil rather than a vinyl covered pad that could be easily cleaned? That didn’t make sense to me. I took the carpet out and velcroed a 9”x13” metal tray to the bottom instead. Second the air holes in the sides are quite large. I am afraid my parakeet might be able to get out through them! Maybe when he’s a little older and bigger he won’t be able to, but right now I’m a bit afraid to take him out in this carrier. Third, as others have mentioned, the protective film on the outside and inside was a bear to get off cleanly. The outside wasn’t terrible because I could score it with a scissor blade, the inside however was hard to reach and I struggled with it, especially around the grommets ( both inside and out). It is supposed to prevent scratches in transit but it got scratched up just trying to get the plastic off. I understand why it would need the film on the outside, but can’t see why it should be on the inside, too. Besides leaving little bits of plastic still stuck here and there. That needs to be changed!
