Creates a broadcast storm on the local network - replaces the router almost without reason!

So every night, seemingly by accident, all the wired clients on my network were down. After many hours of testing various aspects of my network, swapping out a few small switches, and even ordering a brand new router, I realized that this docking station was causing a broadcast storm, rendering all wired clients on my network unavailable. The moment I ordered a new router and just before I opened it up and replaced my current router, it dawned on me that this cable failure was happening around the same time every night after I stopped working. When a laptop connected to this dock went to sleep, the dock basically created a broadcast storm. As soon as I removed the Cat5 cable from this dock, all of my wired clients were immediately available again. Lenovo support refuses to acknowledge or acknowledge that this is a problem. All drivers and bios are up to date. Using a manually set IP address seemed to fix the problem for a short time, but today it happened again. Second, I removed the network cable. BOOM.wired network clients are redundant. I found threads on Lenovo support about other users having this issue. Total nonsense and Lenovo really annoys me. It looks like the only solution is to take the loss and buy another docking station.
