So every night, seemingly by accident, all the wired clients on my network were down. After many hours of testing various aspects of my network, swapping out a few small switches, and even ordering a brand new router, I realized that this docking station was causing a broadcast storm, rendering all wired clients on my network unavailable. The moment I ordered a new router and just before I opened it up and replaced my current router, it dawned on me that this cable failure was happening around…

  • 1x RJ-45 Ethernet 10Base-T/100Base-TX/1000Base-T; 1 audio jack (3.5mm). 1 security lock slot (lock sold separately).

Reliable but not 100% compatible with Yoga C930

The dock has good build quality , many ports, but is not 100% compatible with the Lenovo Yoga C930. First, it wasn't recognized as a Thunderbolt device and the ethernet port wasn't recognized by Yoga. After a few reboots/reconnects, everything worked. The power button on the docking station is not working (amber). When they didn't find the network device, I contacted tech support first, but it was terrible, the Ideapad department sent me to the ThinkPad department, who sent me back to the…

Experience Macbook Pro 2017.

Finally I decided to write something about the performance of macOS. Well everyone knows it's a beautiful tb3 dock and I use it with my DELL 5290 2-in-1 (2*tb3 connectors), everything works great, PSU, 4K@60zh DP out, 4K@ HDMI output 60Hz, Ethernet, optional tb3 port, all tested, this is the perfect dock if you want a reliable TB3 connection. However, in my scenario, I also want to use it with my Macbook Pro, 2017, 15 inch. The thing is I can't get 4k@60hz from its native DP/HDMI ports. I have…

Pros
  • Connections: 2x HDMI; 2 DisplayPort connectors; 1x Thunderbolt 3 Gen 2.
Cons
  • Very expensive

Additional documentation required

This is a well designed product designed for the Lenovo Thinkpad line of notebook computers. I bought it to use with the new Carbon X1 Gen 6 that Lenovo sold before the Gen 7. Although I eventually got my Thinkpad and Dock to work together, it was a stretch. And Lenovo's website was almost useless in the process. My suggestion to Lenovo is: 1. If you try to get rid of many last generation Thinkpads to make room for newer ones, you will have many new Thinkpad owners who are candidates for a…

Nice design, but don't buy if you want reliable dual 60Hz 4K

UPDATE 2: Coming back to 3 stars, I found that the main issue is that if you touch the TB3 cable even a little bit (between dock and laptop), the sync fails. Given the number of dropout complaints here and on Reddit, I suspect it's an issue with the TB3 connector on the back of the dock, which isn't isolated to me. I had the same issue with a 2018 MacBook Pro with a discrete GPU (enough power to run those monitors). UPDATE: Originally rated 4 stars, but after prolonged use I'm seeing a lot of…

Pros
  • ports: 1x USB-C (Thunderbolt 3 compatible); 4 USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports; 1x USB 3.1 Gen 2 with always-on charging.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

May or may not be suitable for your use

It's hard for me to rate this dock, but I'll try to share my experience to help others who are thinking about it. Ultimately, it works for what I need, but not without issues. First my use case: I needed a dock to connect my Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon (2017) and MacBook Pro (2020) to my 2 external monitors (including 4k) and keyboard, mouse and camera sharing use. The need to connect something to both Mac and PC complicated my problem. If you only have one or the other, there are probably easier
