This is a well designed product designed for the Lenovo Thinkpad line of notebook computers. I bought it to use with the new Carbon X1 Gen 6 that Lenovo sold before the Gen 7. Although I eventually got my Thinkpad and Dock to work together, it was a stretch. And Lenovo's website was almost useless in the process. My suggestion to Lenovo is: 1. If you try to get rid of many last generation Thinkpads to make room for newer ones, you will have many new Thinkpad owners who are candidates for a docking station. Why should we search the internet for a compatible one? Why isn't there a flyer on the Thinkpad box that says "Get a docking station here"? 2. The technical articles on Lenovo's website are ambiguous (and in some cases completely wrong) about the Gen 2 Dock's compatibility with the Carbon X1 Gen 6. I bought the dock with the full expectation that the product would not work with my new Thinkpad would work. Why is it needed?3. The box that comes with the dock should have documentation that links to the Lenovo website that answers basic setup questions like "Does my Thinkpad BIOS need a BIOS update and where can I get this new BIOS?". and "Does Windows 10 require a Lenovo driver download to use the dock?"4. I thought yellow was an internationally agreed color that means something is not working properly or that the user needs to be careful. Does the solid amber LED in the center of the dock switch mean the dock is not working properly? If the dock is working properly, does the power button eventually turn green? It's a great docking station with a lot of tech behind it, but by the time it sells it should have seen a little more buyers hand and come equipped with Lenovo Thinkpads.
