Finally I decided to write something about the performance of macOS. Well everyone knows it's a beautiful tb3 dock and I use it with my DELL 5290 2-in-1 (2*tb3 connectors), everything works great, PSU, 4K@60zh DP out, 4K@ HDMI output 60Hz, Ethernet, optional tb3 port, all tested, this is the perfect dock if you want a reliable TB3 connection. However, in my scenario, I also want to use it with my Macbook Pro, 2017, 15 inch. The thing is I can't get 4k@60hz from its native DP/HDMI ports. I have to use a USB-C to dp/hdmi cable to connect it via the tb3 port on the front panel, otherwise I have to work with 4k@30hz@HIDPI OR (QHD@60hz but without HIDPI). I tried installing the latest firmware through their website but to no avail, it's really bad but we can't fault Lenovo. However, they designed it to support their own laptops (Windows), macOS support will never be added to the roadmap. but still a bit embarrassing. Nov 2019, Yesterday I updated the dock firmware to the latest version 3164 using Windows laptop and then switched back to Macbook Pro using macOS Catalina 10.15.1. Now I can get 4k 60hz from dock dp. excellent work. The problem is that the performance of the MacBook Pro docking station is no longer sufficient. The MacBook Pro battery died quickly after I connected the display to the dock's DP port. I'm not sure if the problem is in the firmware or if I have too much payload. then i have to use the original mbp power bank for charging. After some research, I connected an additional power supply to the 230W port. Now the dock is charging with two power adapters and then can charge the MBP again. now everything is done.
