Review on Enhanced Jerdon HL65N 8-Inch Lighted Wall Mount Makeup Mirror with 5x Magnification, Sleek Nickel Finish by Chantelle Mills

I researched and tried different magnifications before settling on this 5x magnification. In my opinion 7x and 10x are way too much, plus you have to get very close to the mirror for it to focus. Installation was very easy. Drill 3/8" holes for the molybdenum screws and slowly tighten while pressing down firmly on the mounting plate to avoid tearing the drywall. Previous reviews recommended using 4 mounting holes. This requires additional drilling of the mounting plate and mirror base. There are no cut-outs on the back for any additional screw heads, which can complicate the final assembly if this is not taken into account. The two molybdenum screws are very secure in the 1/2" drywall and the mirror rotates smoothly. The light switch works perfectly. The light is soft and intensifying. With my bathroom lighting, the mirror light isn't really necessary, but it certainly looks classy The lantern has an extra 20w bulb. The twisted pair cord is perfect for our outlet which is 9" below the bottom of the mirror. I thought about hardwiring the mirror but the cord is translucent and fits well to wall/outlet. Connected to GFI. If I plugged it in it would be upstream from GFI and it's not a code and not a good idea. Overall for the price this is a great looking mirror of good quality. Enjoy.
