Nice shiny coat best in dry

I have a GSD with SIBO. We tried almost every well-known dog food brand in search of a dog food that would solve the problem. I've even tried comfort food, which worked best, and I still feed him raw Canidae meat bones, but the work it took to prepare his food was bone-chilling. We tried Natural Balance due to the limited ingredients, but his hair was like straw and he was itching terribly. Then I ordered Canidae online because the store we buy from didn't have Pure Foundations. My dog's coat is now soft and shiny, but it's still a little itchy. Since my dog is still a puppy, I need to keep him on this food for a few more months before I can switch him to the sweet potato mix that Canidae sells. I hope this helps with the itchy skin because he felt best when I fed him sweet potatoes in his homemade meal. My dog takes pumpkin, antibiotics, prebiotics, probiotics, and fish oil capsules. I hope that adult nutrition will reduce the need for supplements. At the moment his fur feels so good according to Canidae and his symptoms can be managed with supplements. Update: This food is getting too expensive so I am now mixing it with another dog food brand and switching from Canidae Pure Foundation to Canidae Salmon and Sweet Potato and my pup still has a nice shiny coat.
