Let me start by saying that I can't think of any pillow protector that I would rate five stars so keep that in mind. Here's why I needed something to deal with bed bugs spread by a seriously infested neighbor (I live in an apartment building and share a wall and hallway with a man), worst experience ever. The reason for the missing 5th star is that bed bugs and their eggs need to be dried at high temperatures or otherwise exposed to heat to kill bed bugs. These covers/covers should not be dried at high temperatures. So yes they do a great job of protecting my pillows to keep my pillows clean but now how do I clean the covers to protect the covers from bugs? Dilemma. I understand that there is probably no such thing as a waterproof and secure dryer cover, so given my options that's fine. We have feather pillows that we couldn't put through the dryer so we bought them. Sleeping without a pillow wasn't much fun the first week and I'm grateful for that as we can use our pillows and know that if something was there it would stay there. it depends on the bug) A rough texture is more attractive to bugs and harder to check carefully. The texture of the terry cloth is pleasant, but unfortunately comfort is not the priority at the moment. So if you're fighting bugs this is a great option, but I might suggest something with a smoother fabric finish. For any other purpose they are perfect.
