If you have playlists on PC, you CANNOT transfer them with this device. This is a known issue, I've researched the web and many people have come to the same conclusion, if you contact Sony directly they will end up telling you the same thing. You'll have to use Windows Media Player for this (don't even bother if you have iTunes), but this device doesn't support the newer WMP software. So if you have an old laptop that is still running Windows XP or Vista, you can get it working. Otherwise you have to play song by song and create a playlist on the device itself (which is difficult since the device itself is not user-friendly), which can take several hours, and when the device stops working you will not be in the Be able to save this playlist. For this reason I am returning my device. There are other half-price MP3 players that will let you stream playlists, but you should take a close look at the reviews and Q&A sections to see what others have to say about it and if there are any tricks to making it work . I'm still looking. I will stop using Sony products if they don't solve this problem. Much luck.
