Review on πŸ”Œ JBtek Raspberry Pi Micro USB Cable: Hassle-Free Start/Reboot with Convenient ON/Off Switch! by John Bourgeois

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works as described - replaces the cable that came with the kits - good value

This cable REPLACES the cable that comes with most vendors' Raspberry Pi kits. It is not mentioned in the description (maybe I missed it). I figured I'd buy the shorter cable available, which connects to the kit cable and then to the Pi. For this you need a USB power plug, just like for iPhone and other USB devices. I would give 5 stars if they said this clearly. I would have bought it anyway, but I would have started looking around the house for parts before it arrived. A few words about powering the Pi devices: I also used a powered USB port expansion hub as recommended by a kit supplier. I also use the HDMI output. After shutting down the operating system on the Pi, I noticed that the device didn't shut down completely. This is due to both a self-powered USB expansion hub and an HDMI cable, both of which appear to be powering the device at some level. It is recommended to turn off the USB extender and optionally remove the HDMI cable if you need to open the Pi and unplug the storage or other connected devices.
