Ideal for Raspberry

Connected to a wireless phone charger. Call me paranoid but I don't like it when it keeps charging or charging back to 98% just for picking up the phone for a few minutes. So if I just want to use my wireless charging pad as a stand for a while, I just press the button and disable wireless charging. Then when I think it needs to be recharged, I turn it on. EDIT: I still give 5 stars because it would be great for raspberries. Nice and strong, good cord length. But I found that the fan on myโ€ฆ

Great for Raspberry Pi

I got this because after looking at the Raspberry Pi 2 I thought the weak point was the micro USB connection. To disable it, it must be disabled either when connected to the RPi or via an adapter. The only thing I didn't notice was that the adapter/power supply I had was wired and didn't have a USB connection. Not that it's a big deal just to know. At the moment I have it plugged into the USB port on my UPS and it works great. I think I could use Linux commands, but it's easier, especially when

One on/off button, no toggle switch.

The unit does what it is supposed to do - it acts as a power switch for the Raspberry Pi (all versions) as the Pi does not have a built in switch. This allows the board to be powered off when not in use without having to disconnect the USB cable from either the power supply or the PI. I originally thought it was a rocker switch with visible on and off positions. I should have looked more closely. It's a button that doesn't indicate at first glance whether it's already in the "on" or "off"โ€ฆ

Cons
  • High Price

This cable REPLACES the cable that comes with most vendors' Raspberry Pi kits. It is not mentioned in the description (maybe I missed it). I figured I'd buy the shorter cable available, which connects to the kit cable and then to the Pi. For this you need a USB power plug, just like for iPhone and other USB devices. I would give 5 stars if they said this clearly. I would have bought it anyway, but I would have started looking around the house for parts before it arrived. A few words aboutโ€ฆ
