Review on 1 TB USB 3.0 Portable External 💾 Hard Drive by LaCie Porsche Design P'9220 (302000) by Joseph Neal

I just got this drive to replace my old backup drive (which was low on space at 100GB). The previous drive was also LaCie and has lasted me 3-4 years with no issues, as has my LaCie flash drive. This P9220 drive is beautiful and feels very heavy and well made. It is absolutely silent and does not heat up at all when placed on the table. I was transferring files over a USB 2.0 connection (my laptop is about 3 years old and doesn't have a USB 3.0) and it took about 10 hours to transfer 260GB of data. It seems very fast to me given the USB 2.0 connection. The drive worked great with my Mac and I had no trouble setting it up with LaCie Assistant or as a Time Machine drive. I set it up as a Mac-only drive, which gives me more space and can store large files, but it can be set up as a Mac/Windows compatible drive or create a partition and have both formats. I have not used any of the software that came with it. If it stops working I'll update this review, but since it's not used all the time I doubt it will happen any time soon.
