The bottom is NOT completely flat. Measured with ruler and micrometer.
Bottom offset exactly 5/16" or 8mm. Offset starts 3/8" from outside rim of cup. I only bought these for a heating pad, indicating that the cups should be flat bottomed. I'll see how they work and will post if not satisfactory. The bottom rim where the mug meets what you place it on is not very smooth. If you use 320 or 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper this edge can easily be made very smooth in about 2-3 minutes per cup.
