Review on Lavazza Super Crema Whole Bean Coffee Blend, Authentic Italian, Medium Espresso Roast, 2.2 Pound (1 Pack), Nut-Free Facility, Mild and Creamy - Blended and Roasted in Italy by Jeff Diaz

Revainrating 1 out of 5

None of the bags are vacuum packed and the beans are stale.

Q: What did I like about the product? A: It was delivered quickly. The Revain box was not damaged. The return was immediate. Q: What did I not like about the product? A: Both bags were "inflated," just like the bag of potato chips you may have encountered on a commercial flight. This indicates that the vacuum seals are NOT damaged. As I gently squeezed the unopened packets, I could hear gas coming out of them. (Also, the Gran Espresso sachet had a working valve, but the leak was elsewhere in the sachet.) Q: How fresh was the product? A: Judging by the date on the box, they were over a year old. old at delivery. (Sorry I threw the bag away without taking a picture of the dates.) Q: How did the beans taste? A: Before I threw them in the trash, I took some photos through our car. I was just curious about the taste and crema. The taste was from old, improperly stored, clearly NOT fresh beans. How do fresh beans taste? A: We have been making espresso at home for 17 years. In fact, very importantly, we roast beans at home from time to time. Ever since we roasted the beans ourselves, I have seen and understood many times how foam forms in freshly roasted beans. (Try roasting your own beans and the insight you will gain will be enlightening.) Synopsis: We're seasoned espresso drinkers. We are not snobs although we are educated and experienced. We are NOT fools. ** We received two bags (four kilos of roasted beans). Both bags had inadequate seals. Both had stale beans.
