Pleasantly surprised, very nice dress. I had never ordered a dress online before but I needed it immediately for a 50's style party and being older I wasn't looking for a poodle skirt or sleeveless dress so I took a chance and went for this one decided. I have to say this dress looks amazing on a hanger, not a coat hanger so don't panic! The material is heavier which is perfect for the cooler weather right now and the stitching is very good. The top is dark red (not light), the buttons are shiny and the belt is easy to thread through. The belt adorns the dress, so whether you choose a different belt to wear or use the one that comes with it (lovely), it really completes the look. I ordered a 26 inch three tier petticoat under the dress to give it lots of fluff (because the material is a bit heavy) and it looked wonderful! If you prefer, it can also be worn without a petticoat if you're not into a super fluffy 50's look. I ordered a small (mine is 5ft 9in, 120lbs, 34A) and the dress fit perfectly. The bodice and underarms are fitted so anyone over 34B should consider going up a size as there are gaps in these buttons. The only negative is the instructions for the dress. Hand wash only, tumble dry, no spin (no spin), no drying, no ironing! Serious! Guys, I only use the iron as a weapon (when I'm being attacked in the laundry room) or as a doorstop. However, this dress comes in an envelope/package and my postman says that "when it ships it will fit in my mailbox", even if it means folding it into an origami swan! sooo I caressed the dress. sigh! Relax, it survived and came out wrinkle free (just didn't use steam). I'm glad I took the risk.
