This player fully corresponds to the description and comes with all declared cable sets. I found the quality to be excellent and the video quality excellent as well. I know some of the reviews I read before buying were negative but I took a chance and I was very satisfied. The player is standalone and requires no configuration. "Put in a DVD and you'll watch." Region doesn't matter. The player performs a decryption. I bought a DVD player for regions 1, 2 and 4. It works great. The USB port takes a little getting used to, but the player opens and lists all visible images and data. Unfortunately, you cannot access the folder with it. Lists files only. As for the remote control? Works perfectly. The button layout might not be something you're used to with a Region 1 remote, but after a quick look and a try (failure) or two you'll figure it out (or you shouldn't use anything sharper than colored pencil). with what to write :)
