Review on Valentine Optics Desktop Computer Clip-On Reading Lens for Bifocal Age PC Users by Colleen Guaydacan

An economical solution that delivers great, if not perfect, results.

I wear Varilux Phyiso progressive lenses in a frame size 53□19 which is quite wide and I was concerned that the clips might not fit the way I wanted. To my surprise you would think they were designed for this frame as the bridge appears to be almost identical whilst the width between the outer edges of the lenses is 119mm versus 124mm of my goggles in this semi rimless frame and the height is 26mm versus 26mm is 33mm my glasses and the thickness of the plastic lenses is 2.8mm. The total weight of the clip is 0.43 oz. or 12.3g, so the extra weight feels a little even for my narrow nose, but doesn't let my glasses slide off. ok as i was hoping for them but really for the price i would say they are quite excellent indeed and i know my particular vision is the more likely culprit. Born with a strabismus that hasn't been fully corrected by surgery the most tired eye will likely shift and most of the time it's my left eye, this eye also clearly has a different wording as I can tell that my vision isn't that is sharp like me . to my right when looking through the lenses at the same level. Often on my home computer with three 24-inch monitors side by side, I would love to be able to see them while everything stays sharp, but increasingly aware this isn't the case for my left eye, which should be looking through the underside of the lens. Although my eyesight is only a year old and a recent eye test didn't show any major changes that would require new glasses, I think that for computer work I really should consider special computer glasses that are optimized for prescriptions in the 18-24 range is customs. But these clips gave me something to try and they definitely sharpen my vision in my left eye without affecting my right eye. If I look left or right from this point, my vision blurs a bit. This means that when working with a multi-monitor setup, I still have to turn my head more than I would like. Not bad, just not great, and that's enough to make me realize again that specialized fixed-lens computer glasses are probably the best solution. But clip-on clips are handy because I don't have to take them off to put them on get up and do other things, do chores before I return to work. Table; I just flip them over, being careful not to touch the lenses with my fingertips, which get dirty easily. When I first put the clips on I was disappointed to see a very slight milky haze on the screen, even though I cleaned them with Peeps lens cleaner, which also affected the image quality. My inclination is to downgrade it to 4 stars. Oddly enough, contrary to how well the peeps work with my glass lenses, they actually left some kind of almost powdery residue. So I cleaned the clip lenses again with a good quality microfiber cloth and that helped get rid of any haze I noticed. They still had some pretty stubborn scuffs, but a little extra effort from the lens cloth removed them. A little later I saw similar markings again so I'm not exactly sure how I got them but it speaks to the need to be as careful with them as possible to keep them clean. Not a perfect solution, but very good value for money!
