These things are great for masks - I was struggling to find a way to make my masks adjustable, didn't want plastic as it has to withstand the high temperatures in the dryer . It's silicone so I would expect them to be ok with high temperatures. I even go back and partially disassemble the finished masks to remake them with silicone sliders. I use it with 1/8" flat elastic. However, to answer another Revain customer's question if it would work with 1/4", I also have it with 1/4" flat (knitted) Rib material photographed.As you can see the slider sticks out a lot when I try to threading it through the 1/4 inch elastic BUT it went through and after that she was able to slide back and forth. However, I feel like 1/8" elastic fits better.
