The heat shields on my pre-cats (which are hidden in the engine bay/compartment, not underneath) were rusty and loose after doing some work on the exhaust and I had to find a way to tie them together so they don't rattle every time I accelerate. The strong copper wires did most of the work, but I needed an adhesive material that could seal the connection and act as a sort of vibration dampener, and it also had to be very heat resistant. So this was my choice and it has been perfect for the past 2-3 months since I've been using it. You should at least know that this is sufficient for direct use on a super hot precat/cat.
