I bought it to hold the keyboard but held the keys down with the tip of the holder, never tried with a mouse. My keyboard is a big game board so I had to use both to hold the keyboard. I wanted it to be able to press some keys while hanging on the wall when I was resting and watching TV (like the spacebar to pause the show) but I couldn't since you clicked the MUST look at the keyboard on the wall.
