This was the perfect fit for our Emerson TV. The lack of guidance is that there was no discussion as to how far the main panel should be from the ceiling. Might at least give a hypothetical example. I just "guessed" and got 1 inch clearance from the ceiling. I had to redo. My TV is 28 inches from top to bottom. I'm 4 inches from the ceiling and drilled holes for the two top mounting screws 2ft 1in from the ceiling. Using a ratchet, I installed the mount with just the top screws, pushed it down a little, and adjusted it to the perfect height. I then drilled holes for the bottom two screws and tightened everything.
