Runs small, wears out too quickly

After reading other reviews I decided to order an 8 for my daughter, a size 6 who is 4ft 40lbs. I'm glad I did. They fit well around her waist but are sooooo difficult to put on on her legs. Fits well when worn. I like that they have rivets but thought it was a grip knee patch and not just a reinforced knee patch. Edit: She wore them for the first time and while washing I noticed that the seam on the bottom of the pants was already coming undone. They shouldn't fall apart after wearing and washing once.
