Reliable portable multi-channel thermometer - good value for money.

This thermometer surprised me - it can easily be compared to my neighbor's thermometer, which I usually use as a reference to calibrate mine, as its accuracy and stability are very high. I also tested it on another type of pen that was brand new just a week ago and it consistently matched within 1 degree. You need to use a small screwdriver (Phillips) to insert the included batteries. This is because it is sealed around the battery compartments with a silicone O-ring. These types of devices don't often use batteries so it's not a big deal and actually a nice feature as I like to clean them under a soapy water faucet when greasy spray sprays. The magnets are very strong, more than enough to keep the unit on the grill. The sensors that come with it are pretty much standard sensors. They have color coded o-rings but I don't use them - they should identify the sensor by the color of the channel. The probe sockets are really good - soft silicone with a tiny hole in it so it seals well and stays watertight. The orange silicone ring that surrounds the device is also easy to grip. The coasters for the inside of the grill are pretty much standard spring steel - not much to say here. The units are also very easy to read in reflective light. The backlight is bright enough too. I love that it has separate soft silicone buttons for each channel, which is much more convenient than scrolling through menus on one-button models - and it's one of my favorite features of this device. The remote works at least 70 feet away, so from the front of my house to the back where the grill is. I could tell it was working because my friend on the phone looked at the main unit and told me the temperature. were like a preheated grill. I will say that there is about a 3-4 second temperature reading lag on the remote, but that's to be expected from a distance and I'm sure they poll at intervals rather than every second to save battery. In my experience, this is common with these remote thermometers, and the same thing happens with my neighbor's thermometers. The stainless steel bezel is beautiful and easy to clean. The only suggestion I would make is to have heat resistant silicone grips on the probes as they get hot enough to burn you. Not a big deal as I always have oven mitts or silicone grill mitts to grab them, or I just use grill tongs to grab them and pull them out. Overall - very impressed with the value for money.
