Review on Stargazer Evernight Book Claudia Gray Ebook by Amber Anderson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This book is an improvement over the first

(I'll try to avoid spoilers in this review, but if you haven't read the first book, proceed with caution.) Although I read Evernight, the first book in Claudia's trilogy Grey, I definitely think Stargazer was a better read. In this story, Gray has improved significantly and has us waiting for The Hourglass (due out in March). Gray was more focused on vampires and other paranormal activities, and I think that definitely made the overall story more interesting. While we find the inevitable love triangle (yes, I think they're over the top), Gray basically gets rid of it by the end of the story. Unfortunately, I chose someone who wasn't chosen - for whatever reason, Lucas just didn't appeal to me that much in this book, you know. Maybe this plot will improve in the third book, or maybe the forbidden/impossible love theme is just a bit dated at the moment. Luckily, The Stargazer is dynamic and I think it has evolved better overall in this book. I didn't feel like the story was rushed at the end to make ends meet like I felt with Evernight. I'm really very interested in seeing where her Bianca story takes her - the slight twist in her legacy made for an interesting departure from what I've traditionally read about vampires. Speaking of twists and turns, the one just mentioned was really the only interesting one this time - there weren't really any big shocks like in the first book. But because the pacing was greatly improved, I didn't miss the mega plot twists. Bottom Line: If you liked Evernight, you'll probably like Stargazer even more - I know I did. And there's a lot of potential for the third book to be a great ending to the trilogy.
