How did I ever live without this tofu press?

Love love love this gadget! I cringe when I think of all the paper towels I've wasted over the years. In fact, I bought 2 of these presses to press two blocks of tofu at a time. They came in handy last Thanksgiving when I made a loaf of tofu. I actually use my EZ Tofu Press at least three times a week. And I discovered a great way to collect water without taking up a lot of countertop space with plates or bowls. I use plastic containers (house brand) that the tofu is packaged in! The presses balance perfectly in containers (see photo) and I don't have to wash plates or bowls afterwards. Just throw the containers in the trash! I've also tried all types of tofu (house brand) with this press (soft, medium, firm and extra firm) and it works like a charm. Of course you have to be careful with softer material as you can easily mash it to a pulp but if you want to remove some water from soft or medium material you can do it with this press. However, it works best with hard and super hard. If you eat tofu, you absolutely must have one of these presses, but I recommend getting two! Update: I wrapped a Block House Soft Tofu in a few layers of gauze and placed it in an EZ Tofu Press. It worked like a charm! I was able to get almost all of the liquid out of the tofu and it didn't become a huge mashed mess in the press. The texture is also much thicker. So if your favorite tofu is soft, wrap it in at least 2 layers of cheesecloth before using the press!
