Tried a fishless cycle, added ammonia as directed by manufacturer. I've been checking regularly for the past 4 days and haven't noticed any drop in ammonia levels. It started at 2ppm and didn't drop. There are no nitrites present. Nitrates are around 10ppm from the soil I used but they haven't changed in the last 4 days. I think I need to go to the store to buy a safe tetra starter which has worked well for me in the past. Too bad I have very good things about Dr. belongs to Tim. It may have been on the shelf too long. I can't return it either because I've used it all up.
