As the kids get bigger, we seem to run low on space for trips. I wish we would have purchased this sooner! This year we used the car bag to store sheets, bath towels, beach towels and some toys. This is the first year the kids did not have things piled up around them. on the return trip home, we did encounter some heavy rain and a little water got in but I'm thinking we didn't have the zippers secured together.We have rails on our car but not the crossbars. This was no problem as the car bag came with a rubber mat that helps keep it in place along with the secure straps. Since we only used the side straps, we secured the front straps under the side straps to keep them from flapping around. That helped to decrease the car noise.Overall, I would highly recommend this product. If for nothing else, it is much safer in the car without the kids being so crowded with all of our stuff!
