This is undoubtedly Nikon's highest quality and most expensive zoom for cameras with cropped DX matrices. I, like all novice photographers, dreamed of buying this zoom at one time, hoping that it would help me finally make masterpieces every time I press the button. But after the purchase, I realized that I could, as before, click directly on the basket. I am grateful to Nikon for making this fake lens for a completely incommensurable price for it, to make it clear to the so-called "photographers" that they need to stop doing nonsense and start thinking much more about light and composition, and learn at least the basics of photography . This will bring many times more benefits than buying 17-55. I did just that, read books, analyzed the photos of the masters, changed this zoom to 35mm 1.8 and was damn happy as a result of my photos, and not the slag that I produced before. A few more words about VR, since here its absence is often written as a disadvantage. How the system works: when there is little light, the camera starts to automatically slow down to less than 1/125s, and the inevitable blur from hand shake appears if you shoot without a tripod. To minimize this very blurring, VR is used. This technology came from the world of soap dishes and is used only on the cheapest and darkest zoom models, since there is always not enough light on them. Except on the beach at noon. The only place where this technology can really be useful is the television range, for everything else it's just marketing and substitution of concepts. In general, I hope my review will be useful, and there will be more beautiful photos)
