It is larger than my current pencil case/pen. I mainly use pens that are much thicker than pencils that fit 40 pens and have room for more. The side zip pocket opens into the main compartment and has additional compartments for pens or other items. Quality corresponds to the price, the texture resembles water-repellent fabric. The handle on the side makes it easy to carry. Ideal for art students, a protractor and a small ruler or calculator with fewer pins will also fit. At less than $10, it's a steal to go back to school with.
