This is the most artificially scented "sandalwood" oil I have ever come across. Not sure where it came from, but the smell is sickeningly sweet and has a weird plastic smell to it. At this price I wasn't expecting the quality of Mysore sandalwood or even Australian sandalwood but this product is best for those who have no idea what high quality sandalwood smells like. Perhaps it should have been more precise, for example "similar to sandalwood". It would be interesting to know which genus this oil should come from, because it is definitely not Santalum album sandalwood (Indian) or Santalum spicatum (Australian).
