Review on 🐾 12"x16" Sliding Doggy Door with Magnetic Flap - Lockable Cat Door - Ideal for Existing Screen Door, Window, and Porch by Trey Harvey

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The instructions are incomprehensible, but if you tinker a little, it's possible.

Update: After a few days of use, the inner and outer halves began to separate and the door panel fell out. I had to drill a few holes and add mounting bolts and nuts to hold it together. Much stronger now. I think screws are the way to go from the start so some design revisions are needed. I had to separate the inner and outer halves of both the outer frame and swing door. I then removed the screen door from the door frame and removed the latch so it lay flat. (Possible to install with the door in place, but I have a thick pet-proof screen. Sturdy material.) Lay the door down and position the outside of the outer frame under the screen door. Then place the inside of the outer frame on top and smack them together with a rubber mallet (with a piece of scrap board underneath to hit it). Then I cut out the screen with a paper knife. Place the cut piece of mesh between the two halves of the swing door and tap together with a rubber mallet to cut off the excess mesh. Then bend the swing door slightly to reassemble it to the outer frame. New door and lock installed. Did. However, to see if the pup understands how to use it.

Pros
  • Inner Door Hole Size: 12" x 16"; Outer frame size: 13.8" x 18", needs to be installed based on pet's size, suitable for most cat and dog breeds, but not suitable for extra small kittens and puppies because this large door is too heavy.
Cons
