Description of ๐Ÿพ 12"x16" Sliding Doggy Door with Magnetic Flap - Lockable Cat Door - Ideal for Existing Screen Door, Window, and Porch

Pet screen door can make your dogs and cats go in or out freely enough without asking for your help to open the door, great for your pet potty break or playtime. Use a flat-head screwdriver or putty knife to separate the frame and door so you have six parts, two-half door frame, flap and tabs. Inner Door flap didn't come with a screen insert, you have to put this on a screen you already own, then cut down the screen against the frame and place it inside the flap. Swings both ways. Magnets slow the door down and stop it in place after 3-4 swings. Two plastic tabs removed that push into a hole to lock the door to stop pets in and out, double-sided slots lockable. It is best to use glue to fix it during installation, but It didn't come with any glue, need you to buy it. Whether you end up using glue or not, you must use four zip ties (provided) to hold the outer frame top and bottom to prevent the door from separating and falling. Inner door hole size: 12 x 16 inches; Outer frame size: 13.8 x 18 inches, need to be installed base on the pet's height, fit most breed cats and dogs, but not suitable for especially little kittens and puppies because this big door too heavy.

Large screen door for dogs.

I love it, my dog loves it and my wife loves it. It was easy to install (just make sure you put it on the right side). I don't use a lock because my dog will just crawl through it (i.e. hold the lock but not the screen slider). Also, it attaches to the screen, so I'm not sure why the 'Weather Protection' star was selected. this is a privacy screen that protects against flies and mosquitoes - that's enough for me.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Some little things

A great budget option for a dog door!

My goldendoodle pup learned to use this door very quickly, it kept a lot of flies and bugs out of the house and also saved my carpet **UPDATE** I suggest zip ties around the outer ring to use to fix it a little better. Sometimes the door pops out and you have to lock it again. After installing some zip ties on the outside, especially near the internal connection of the door, the problem is less likely to occur. Plus the door is still holding and my goldendoodle pup is now almost 80lbs and heโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Follow the installation instructions.

Just installed after looking at it for a few months. I had to replace the screen first because the cat grabbed it with its claws. So anything and everything for an inexperienced person, two hours with 6 year old twins bores them to do all the work. Not used yet, let's see. It's plastic so I expect it to withstand rain/snow. Has a magnetic feature at the bottom to help keep it closed when not in use. The locking function is a simple outward turn. The latch holes were a great place to insert aโ€ฆ

Pros

Cons
  • Reliability

Durable and easy to install.

I have a German shepherd and 3 Chihuahuas. Everyone uses it daily. Such a great purchase Rather than spending so much on an expensive device that attaches to a glass door or goes through a wall. I thought it would eventually damage the screen but so far it hasn't caused any damage. Installation was very easy. I made it as soon as it arrived. I only needed a knife to cut the screen once it was attached. Please keep in mind that I live in Southern California where it is mostly sunny year roundโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • There are nuances

The installation should be clearer.

Just wanted something that would allow our 2 medium sized dogs to come and go on the deck without having to leave the trellis open once bug season has started. I figured, worst case scenario, I wouldn't have $26 and have to pay a hardware store to put a new screen in our drawer. Estimated risk. Just finished installing. It remains to be seen if I can convince the dogs to use it. I think he has potential. And it looks good. As other people have pointed out, the installation guide is useless even

Pros
  • The mesh pet door allows your dogs and cats to get in and out freely without having to ask for your help to open the door, ideal for potty breaks or your pet at play.
Cons
  • Crumpled

Update: After a few days of use, the inner and outer halves began to separate and the door panel fell out. I had to drill a few holes and add mounting bolts and nuts to hold it together. Much stronger now. I think screws are the way to go from the start so some design revisions are needed. I had to separate the inner and outer halves of both the outer frame and swing door. I then removed the screen door from the door frame and removed the latch so it lay flat. (Possible to install with the door

Pros
  • Inner Door Hole Size: 12" x 16"; Outer frame size: 13.8" x 18", needs to be installed based on pet's size, suitable for most cat and dog breeds, but not suitable for extra small kittens and puppies because this large door is too heavy.
Cons
  • Became damaged

The only review you need to read is

I researched several dog door options. This was the best in several categories: installation, functionality, price and level of structural damage. We have a German Shepherd Husky mix that weighs almost 60 pounds and is a perfect match for her. I placed it a little higher off the ground for her to be comfortable using, but not too high because we also have a 15 pound Chihuahua mix with small feet. Installation was a little tricky, mostly because the instructions weren't very clear (as many haveโ€ฆ

Pros
  • . It is best to use glue to fix it during installation, but no glue is included, you need to buy it. Whether you end up using glue or not, you'll need to use four zip ties (included) to hold the outer frame up and down to keep the door from coming loose and falling.
Cons
  • Slightly torn
