Review on 🐾 12"x16" Sliding Doggy Door with Magnetic Flap - Lockable Cat Door - Ideal for Existing Screen Door, Window, and Porch by Reginald Pitt

The installation should be clearer.

Just wanted something that would allow our 2 medium sized dogs to come and go on the deck without having to leave the trellis open once bug season has started. I figured, worst case scenario, I wouldn't have $26 and have to pay a hardware store to put a new screen in our drawer. Estimated risk. Just finished installing. It remains to be seen if I can convince the dogs to use it. I think he has potential. And it looks good. As other people have pointed out, the installation guide is useless even for a somewhat experienced DIYer. I had to come up with a few steps myself, including the order of operations. A few thoughts: You should really plan to take a picture of the screen, and do it on a flat surface. Otherwise I wouldn't make it. Beware of the damn magnets! they drop out. And make sure they line up with the correct polarity when you put them back in, otherwise your inner plate will be exposed. There is no explanation for this anywhere in the instructions. I had to find out for myself thanks to the reviews of others here. Probably won't use them.

Pros
  • The mesh pet door allows your dogs and cats to get in and out freely without having to ask for your help to open the door, ideal for potty breaks or your pet at play.
Cons
  • Crumpled
