this is necessary because I took a 120mm fan from a power supply that had a 2 pin connector instead of 3 pin. Fits perfectly with no problems. Highly recommended if you need a 2-3 pin fan connector. The plug itself is only 5 inches long so you may need to use an extension cord to get where you want. But it works perfectly. Just a note. My ends are black instead of white as pictured. What is the perfect color for me.
